I'm so glad. This was in 1966 I think.I was with the band called The Bad Seeds From Wayne,Mi.I was very
impressed with this band.I live in the same town as
Gary Quackenbush. Also Mitch Ryder lives here.I think
we need to have a huge get together with all the Classic Rock band survivers here in Michigan.A ton of good classic music came from our state.

From what I read on ... ( 1 year ago by liennosnikcid)
From what I read on this the only orignals of the band playing on this is Steve Lyman (singing rather poorly) and Gary & Glenn Quackenbush. Al Wilmot & E.G. Clawson have since passed away, unfortunately. Don't know what happened to Scott Richardson.
SRC was one the major bands of my growing up in the Detroit area. It was a great time for rock, unlike now.
i saw this band ... ( 1 year ago by 79943)
i saw this band numerous times around the ann arbor / motown area back in the late 60's. they were one of the best. i could never figure out why they didnt break out. same thing as with the rationals, wilson mower, etc. for those of us who saw these bands developing right alongside bob seeger and ted nugent those were some great days. i wish some of you youngsters could have seen them back then.

I saw them 3 time in the early 70's. Between the time that Jimi Hendrix died and Ritchie Blackmore got good, Quackenbush was my favorite guitarist.
I think that Scott is still alive. I keep hearing that he is out in California working with Ray Manzarik (sp?), former Doors keyboardist. I think they even have a CD or two out.

Yes, Scott is still alive but no longer lives in CA. He released a CD with Ray in 1996. You can find a copy on the web. (ebay, Amazon etc)

In 1982, I was in Ragnar Kvaran's band, and he was in the process of getting married to Kathy Asheton (Ron Asheton's sister). She and Scott had been going together previously. Ragnar told me that Scott phoned him from CA to congradulate him.

Jeff Vail passed away a couple years back. Jem Targal, Stoney, Al Jacquez, Ray Goodman, and others played a benefit for his family at an Elk's Club in Royal Oak on March 25th of 2006...

Looks like lotsa music connections here....I was wondering if anybody knows where Dan Honaker (Bob Seger System, Primal Scream) is at now. I knew him along with Jamie Stone and Jim Craig (Jim formerly of Third Power with Jem Targal and Drew Abbott(Silver Bullett)) when they were in the Scream. Would sure like to be able to contact these guys again. I sure miss all the old Detroit bands--SRC, Rationals, Bob Seger System, Frut, etc., etc.,etc. (sigh) Those truly were the days!
All I have to say ... ( 6 months ago by drprogensteinphp)
All I have to say is wow! I grew up with this stuff! I still own all those Michigan bands on vinyl...I'd have to say my favorite SRC album is still 'Milestones'. 'Checkmate', 'No Secret Destination', and 'In the Hall of the Mountain King/Bolero' still rock my house 40 years later! Gary's interpretation of Bolero surpasses that of Jeff Beck, and Joe Walsh in my opinion!
Even though I lived ... ( 5 months ago by MarcCuster)
Even though I lived up north in Charlevoix back then they played in Traverse City. I think it was around 1969. My friend's older brother was a big fan and he took us to it. There was like several bands and it cost $3 for many hours of the finest music my young impressionable mind had ever heard. Was envious of those living in Detroit-Ann Arbor area with all those bands! Others that come to mind are The Frost, MC5, Stooges, Amboy Dukes, Bob Seeger, Mitch Ryder and Grand Funk Railroad.

I grew up in Windsor Ont. Canada, which believe it or not is a stone throw south of Detroit. I caught many of the shows you speak of.
stuckindetroilet...good call on the 'Third Power'! I still own two beautiful pressing of 'Believe', one is still in the shrink wrap!
Shit, I even have a sealed copy of 'Michigan Rocks' on Mitch Ryder's 'Seeds and Stems' record label. I have an opened copy as well of course. Great compilation!
Rock on, and thanks for this great video solardjk.

This was one tune I played over and over again. I still have the album in mint condition.
Never missed a night at the Grande, then when the bands played at East Town never missed any bands there either.
Incredible memories.
Was at the Olympia when John Sinclair (MC5) was busted for having a joint.
Excellent trip down memory lane.
