steventean, basically if there are any imperfections in the master vinyl then these imperfections will be on every copy made from it.
If you've ever bought a new record and played it only to find the needle jumps every time (even though it's a brand new record) at a certain part, it's probably to do with a unseen imperfection on the vinyl. These imperfections usually look like tiny dots on the vinyl you can feel with your finger.

Never mind jumps! I had Loverboy's "Hot Girls In Love" 45...went through about 10 copies...every copy got to a certain part,about 2:30 into the single version,and would stick in the same damn spot.

Digital is 1's and 0's. Analog usually requires physical contact. CD's are recorded in 44.1 thousand "pixels" per second at 16 bits per pixel. That is considered sd audio, when lossless. 24 bit in 48 k sample rate is hd. (I prefer 96) Think of it like film. You have the actual film itself that you would see blown up 3 stories high and still be infinitely clear. Then you got the cd/dvd which is good up to about 40 inches. Then you got hd which is finally getting to what digital should sound like.

Whoa! Great video. I love the vinyl. It's so powerful, It's indeed much better than the CD.
My turntable is a Technics 1200 with a Ortofon ARKIV cartridge, no CD able to beat it!
