BACHATA is the name of a Dominican music that was actually born in the western part of CUBA "Guantanama", over there the music is known as CHANGUI, it is a bit different and bachata has grown into more of a commercial music, but the dances are similar, you have to feel the music, and drink rum!!!! lol Dominicans who were in Cuba bought home the Changui music of Cuba, and gave it its own flavor and it soon became BACHATA, here's a film of CHANGUI music
