Civic is mechanically 10x better than an Alfa, I wont deny but it just lacks the X-factor it lacks prescence or character or style, it looks OK but doesnt look classy. If its just a mode of transport for reliability why not just go and buy a Toyota Hilux or a Honda accord?

Well yea the Honda Vtec is perhaps the best 4 cylinder engine on the planet. The best comparison I can try to give is buying a Jap/German car is like buying a set of big pants for your wife, reliable and boring. Buying an Alfa is like buying some sexy underwear for your mistress, lot more risky, lot more expensive and doesnt last long, but so much more exciting!

I did have an alfa, a nightmare i will never forget, the worst heap of horrible, unreliable, scrapheap, i have ever experienced
Did i sell it? the answer is no, as there was no one who wanted to buy the thrash heap
Gave it to my brother, and after 2 weeks of him owning it, it broke down 5 times, needless to say, he also gave it away free:)rubbish

Wrong there girls, the car had full history, i had it serviced re schedule, and a thorough check done by alfa, still broke down:) and if so many people love them, why are they one of the hardest cars to sell, so much so, that dealers wont touch the junk, i think its time you done your maths "moron' :)lol

ha ha ha benny2rats. Didn't you know you bought a Fiat? Alfa Romeo made excellent and gorgeous cars unfortunately it disappeared in 1987. Fiat and their brands Alfa and Lancia are worst cars in the world. Be careful, I am warning you.

Am pleased you agree, by saying that fiat and alfa are the worst brands in the world:) I hear that alfas made in 1980s where worse than the junk they make today, you could see them rust before your very eyes, and that many owners abandoned them, as they got so sick of the repairs:) I researched all the motoring info available during that period:) and they clearly state that they never made excellent cars:)

All cars are a bad "investment"! You can't "make" money on them! You'll just lose more with an Alfa but my god you'll have a great time while doing so. If anyones going to buy an Alfa, buy it second hand,never new, and know your stuff!

Not all cars are a bad investment, take the british mini for example:) it holds its value extremely well, as dose the british volkswagon.

You still lose money as soon as you sit into a car after purchase VW, Toyota, Honda, whoever. The mini is a niche thing not a representative example of the car market.

Lol Benny! there r 2 types of used alfas,ones that have been flogged and ones that have been looked after!
Alfas tend to be driven really hard and the ones that have will obviously need work done to them, make sense? Do your homework properly and dont buy one that has been flogged!
If you want a boring car that hasnt been driven hard buy a japanese, they rarely break down because they are driven so slowly thus the engine is barely being pushed.
