God wasn't given glory by her death but by the father's response to her death. He did not cry and say that he couldn't go on but he knew that he had everything he could ever need in Jesus. The fact that God can sustain us and that we need NOTHING else but him is what gives him the most glory. To quote Piper "God is most glorified when we are most satisfied in him."

Okay I copied in Galatians 3:13-14 cause I don't understand why you think Piper hates it. It is talking about Christ taking our curse of sin by becoming cursed.

The only thing I could find was how much is house cost. His home is valued at $165,000- purchased for $65,000. Just to put that in perspective the average listing price for a house in Minneapolis is around $210K.

I don't get what your saying he said he hates the prosperity gospel. Galatians 3:13-14 is about the gift of the holy spirit that we are given through faith in Christ.

what did Jesus do to the people in the temple that were buying and selling of goods? He was outraged and turned over tables. I would to if I knew people were using Jesus for money and earthly prosperity. That ISN'T the gospel at all. And it doesn't matter if you don't like it, it doesn't matter if I don't like it, or if anyone doesn't like it. Tough. It's the way of God, there is no other way.

It is a shame that someone who professes to be a minister would put God in a box. I for one know that man's limited field of vision can not know every intention and move of God through all time even if it is beyond my area of faith and calling. It is in the Bible, however it is easy to attack something that puts your faith on the line. Funding worldwide missions with Godly money is not a crime except to the modern pharisee.

I have a great deal of respect and appreciation for John Piper, he is full of the Holy Spirit. But I think another extreme we as the church have fallen under many times is the poverty mentality-that we cannot live a free life in Christ until heaven. But does anyone hear not believe that the prosperity, health and wealth gospel has done damaged the body of Christ here in America??

He clearly asserts that God is the giver of gifts but what he means is that they teach that if you come to Jesus you will be propserous with material which is false. I think God will give different blessings in different ways to different ppl but that shouldnt be the focus

Ringo... Thank you for typing your comments. You are battling dead religion and I admire you for it. A ministry that attacks other ministry is frankly ridiculous. Also, I am over people that believe God can only operate in their limited and mortal scope of thinking. It is the Pharisees all over again and they do use the net in force!

We indeed are no longer under the law, but that doesn't mean we may live just like the devil, and sin all we want. U really should read Romans 6, it supports my statements. Prosperity Gospel is teaching AGAINST Christ on this.

really? you think it's about going broke on purpose? the whole point of what John Piper was saying is when prosperity becomes the main point of the gospel, it no longer is the gospel. It's not saying be poor on purpose.
