Techno/Electronica is kind of the real definition of "music."
All these modern pop/hip-hop/rock stuff, it isn't really "music," per se, it's really just songs.
And yes, there's a difference.
With music like from Aphex Twin it's stuff that you listen to so your ears have some fun. "Songs" require you to think, with the words that come with it. But stuff like this, it's really just rhythm and sound. This is music.
