Talking about childbirth. This is my point of view and that of a lot of women who have a traumatic experience and are not afraid to talk about it. It doesn't make me any less of a person to admit to the pain.
By the way, if you're wondering about my accent: I've lived in New Zealand, Australia and the United States.I've studied English since I was 6 years old and by the time I attended High School in the US, I was already fluent.

Good for you. There are support groups for women who had a negative birth experience. You can both receive and offer support to/from women who felt traumitized by their births.

Fantastic! I admire people who aren't ashamed to admit they feel pain, they cry, they're human. As for the accent: Jamaican? Not at all. YOUR ACCENT is very sophisticated. You sound very educated as well.

So sorry to hear about your experience. I think a midwife would be very helpful to you in future pregnancies, they also typically do not cut episiotomies. And about your hair loss you really should have your thyroid checked. The amount you describe you have lost is less likely caused by postpartum hormone fluctuations and more likely caused by hypothyroid. Again, look into a support group for women who have bad birth experiences.

I guess Kyle doesn't think a Jamaican accent is sophisticated and apparently, he or she doesn't think it sounds educated either.Well as they say in Brazil: ''Gosto é que nem cú, cada um tem um'' and in Norway ''smaken er som bakken''. Both proverbs or sayings mean one thing : different people appreciate different things and that is totally ok:-)

I get questions like that a lot, but I think that at this day and age, with all the technology available it is not necessary for a woman to go through all that pain in order to have a baby.

The government of Norway doesn't allow C-sections unless there's danger of death, that's why I had to have vaginal birth and I wasn't prepared for it. IT was horrendous and if I have another baby one day, I will have it in Brazil where C-sections aren't a problem. I love my daughter, but I don't think the pain was necessary:-)

I have a friend who had her second baby and then her hair fell out too.... It was strange, her doc said it was hormonal. Also, she didnt have a period for a full year after giving birth, and she breastfed for a very long time... at least 2 years. Also, I wanted to say that your daughter is absolutely gorgeous!! What a pretty baby!! Congratulations! Sorry you had a negative experience, but thanks for sharing!

Getting kicked in the nuts must be painful for guys, but I am sure it doesn't last for 24 hours.

Who are you to say I didn't? The epidural did not work. I DID HAVE A NATURAL BIRTH. I am sick and tired of people who don't know what I went through trying to give their opinion as though they were actually there with me. IF you don't have something useful to say, don't say anything.
