I don't think the beat belongs to the Dead. They did perform the song live every once in a while (there's a version on "Fallout From The Phil Zone"), but I think that was about it.

Craig G's style here was much simplier than Kane's, Masta Ace's, or G Rap's. He didn't have a lot of internal rhymes on this one. he just basically rhymed the end of every line. Still, the sympony is awesome. Such a masterpiece!
