Beautiful singing. Tchiakovsky wrote a lot more that the nutcracker. I love the serenade melancolique! Remember that Christ the Savior Cathedral in Moscow has been rebuilt! and that Haigha Sophia (aka Holy Wisdom or Saint Sophia) in constantinople (aka Istanbul) and Sts.constantine and helen (on Stoney Island Ave) in Chicagowill be Christian again soon! Nobody, Orthodox Christian or not, could deny that this music takes you to a holy and spiritual place and grasps a divine longing not of this physical realm. Aaah, Tchaikovsky! Breathtaking! I have just returned from Russia and listening to this sends a flame of desire through my veins to be back in that awe-inspiring place.

i find it finally! i heard this tune many years ago while checking out some new released classical music in tower record, and i didn't even catch the name. just few minutes ago i stumbled upon this clip while searching for some Tchaikovsky's choral works, and fell under the spell of these beautiful voices. now i guess i can die smiling. thank so much for posting, greeting from thailand (very hot and humid).

Since then, people have come up with many different melodies for the hymn, this is Tchaikovsky's melody. A cherubim is a type of angel mentioned several times in the Bible. It's a Hebrew word, so I wouldn't know how it translates literally.
