@Sarn0: The ... ( 3 days ago by dhatzinik)
@Sarn0: The Ecumenical Councils and the Church Fathers are ABSOLUTELY CLEAR in their interpretations. They do NOT need to be interpreted! But you have to read it for yourself. Everytime I tell people what the Fathers say, they do not believe me, simply because they have already formed their own opinion using secular criteria.
As for the Zionists, they want to conquer the whole world and then enthrone the Antichrist. Orthodoxy is a serious barrier to this plan, so they want to destroy it.
My beloved brother, ... ( 2 days ago by Adonimos)
My beloved brother, the new calender Church is still on its path of roman church unity and fear runs through many not to speak against it, i really do not have much to do with the new calender church. I try to help others in seeing how things are but they dont want to know. All I can say Scripture is very clear to seek the Lord diligently and to work out our salvation with fear and trembling but to many these are just words. May God be with us all and lead us all in Truth.
@Adonimos: My dear ... ( 2 days ago by dhatzinik)
@Adonimos: My dear brother in Christ, please accept my sincere congratulations for speaking the truth. As you have pointed out correctly, this is indeed the challenge for us: struggle to save our own souls and, if we can, any other well-intended ones. God bless you and your family.
No. None of those ... ( 2 days ago by planetar4564)
No. None of those verses teach dogma. Adoptionism, Arianism, Monophysitism, Monothelitism, Nestorianism, etc, are all heresies, but they are not incompatible with Mat 28:19. Only in Ecumenical Councils can dogma be established, based on the Bible and Tradition. If you argue that the Bible ALONE teaches dogma, then you are a protestant, and I know you aren't. Just agree with me, and stop being silly. =)
So, Ecumenism is worse than Donatism? worse than Psilanthropism?
"A drop of honey ... ( 2 days ago by planetar4564)
"A drop of honey wins over more people than a pound of gall." Usually that is the case. Some people, we forget, might be allergic to honey. =)
planetar: Obviously ... ( 2 days ago by dhatzinik)
planetar: Obviously, we have a communication problem. First, I wrote "The Bible does teach dogma," but you misinterpreted my statement as "the Bible ALONE teaches dogma." Second, I cited the verse "go and make desciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the FATHER, and of the SON, and of the HOLY SPIRIT" to show you that the Holy Trinity IS explicit in the NT, but you argue back that many heresies are not inconsistent with this verse. So what?
Array ( 2 days ago by nomust)
@planetar4564
Here is a short story I have read.
Someone asked an Orthodox Elder:
"Father, what do I need in order to go to Paradise?"
The Elder responded: "You need to have the passport of Orthodoxy"
"Is that enough?" asked the man.
And the Elder, saddened by the spirit of ecumenism that he saw in the man, told him: "No my child, you need also to get a visa from the Pope!"
:)

I suppose I find ... ( 2 days ago by planetar4564)
I suppose I find the statement "The Bible teaches dogma" incomplete and misleading. It's like saying "Oxygen creates fire" without mentioning the hydrocarbons involved in the process. Both are required to create fire. Likewise, both the Bible and Tradition are required to teach dogma.
Without Tradition, the Bible would be able to teach any number of different heresies. Which is in fact what all these heretics do. They distort the Bible for their own purposes.
I think our ... ( 2 days ago by planetar4564)
I think our misunderstanding is more of a linguistic nitpicking than an actual difference in belief on the matter. =)
In any case, since the Great Schism of 1054, there are two Traditions from Apostolic times. *shrugs* I find it hard to argue with that. In any case, if both Catholics and Orthodox work together, I think it would be a great step towards Christian unity. If the Orthodox wish to box themselves away, it will be a loss for everyone.
If you ask a ... ( 2 days ago by planetar4564)
If you ask a Catholic, they will tell you the Orthodox split away. If you ask an Orthodox, they will tell you the Catholics split away. =)
In truth, the cultural, political, and linguistic divides that separated the two Churches inexorably led to something of this nature. Both sides handled it badly, and mutually excommunicated each other.
What continues to separate Orthodox and Catholics? Pride in precepts of men, rather than the faith in God.
planetar: Let's get ... ( 2 days ago by dhatzinik)
planetar: Let's get things straight. You had written that "the Bible does not teach dogma. It explains dogma." My response was: "The Bible does teach dogma." How can you possibly say that my statement is "incomplete and misleading"?
All your ... ( 2 days ago by Sarn0)
All your credibility vanished with your conspiracy theories. In the eyes of others you are either schizophrenic or superstitious. I suggest you don't bring that issue up in the future.
The Holy Fathers were not clear for a simple reason. So that nobody can hide behind their intepretations therefor be individuals. If their points of view were clear as ice, there would be no "ecumenists", not a single one.
planetar: You ... ( 2 days ago by dhatzinik)
planetar: You brought up an excellent point that I have emphasized in most of ny messages, albeit with different words: "Without Tradition, the Bible would be able to teach any number of different heresies." This is why I have been emphasizing the importance of the decisions of Ecumenical Councils and of the Church Fathers. The Western Church fell into heresy because it went against the Holy Canons and the other dogmatic decisions of the Ec. Councils.
Sarn0: The FACTS ... ( 2 days ago by dhatzinik)
Sarn0: The FACTS are facts and constitute overwhelming evidence that the conspiracy "theories" are correct. It is your right, of course, to ignore the facts. Such a behavior is not rational, however. You are also wrong in arguing (without knowing!!!) that the Fathers are not clear in their teachings.
Dhatzinik is right, ... ( 1 day ago by Adonimos)
Dhatzinik is right,if the world council of churches was right why does our Lord say will i find any faithful on my return clearly the WCC is not the same faith of the Apostles. and it was the roman church that put a letter of excommunication on the Churches altar because we would not accept the roman popes heresy where he is the head of the Church. The Church always has believed and taught that Christ is the Head of the Church. Its up to you what you want to accept. May God have mercy on us all.
These "facts" are ... ( 1 day ago by Sarn0)
These "facts" are under no circumstances reliable. The question is nowadays do you WANT to believe those facts mean anything. If you do, then well, we've got an antisemitist. I do not find these "facts" should govern my life.
About the Holy Fathers... Could you offer me some texts where The Holy Fathers disagree with my point of view? Note, that my stance is clearly according to the Toronto Declaration of the Orthodox Church. Do not think I believe all are saved. I know I'm at risk, you too.
Some choose not to ... ( 1 day ago by Adonimos)
Some choose not to follow the Bible does this make the Bible untrue? Share with me the Toronto declaration of the Orthodox Church.
@Sarn0: St. Cyprian ... ( 1 day ago by dhatzinik)
@Sarn0: St. Cyprian and others, interpreting the Holy Gospels, have written that "there is no salvation outside the Church." Since the Church has issued anathemas against all heretics (e.g., the 7th Ecumenical Council), isn't it clear that all heretics who, in full awareness, refuse to repent and die in their heresies are going to hell?
@Sarn0: How can you ... ( 8 hours ago by dhatzinik)
@Sarn0: How can you say that the facts "are under no circumstances reliable," since you do not even know them? And why would anybody be an "antisemitist," that is a racist, if he refuses to submit to the Zionist plans of ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT and ONE WORLD RELIGION, that of the Antichrist? You confused racism, which is a heresy, with the spirit of struggling against the global dictatorship that is under way and which is predicted in the Bible. Is the Bible racist, as the Zionists claim it to be?
I know quite enough ... ( 5 hours ago by Sarn0)
I know quite enough of these "facts" to judge their reliability. The Zionists are not trying to enslave the world. There are no Zionist at all, apart from the silly drunkards on the streets shouting stuff. There won't be a one world government and there won't be one religion, because that would mean the end of all wars and unity for all. Look at the world, it ain't happening any time soon.
It's desperate to claim the Bible backs up your claims of Zionist. Apocalypse =/= Evil Zionist Invasion
I will never ... ( 4 hours ago by KeithTruth)
I will never assiciate with the blasphymous beast that is the catholic church.
