I did. exodus 21 verses 1-11 all talk about laws of slavery and yes, condones selling your daughter into slavery.
Exodus 35 verse 2 indeed says anyone who works on the sabbath should be put to death.
Leviticus 11 verse 7 says the skin of a pig is unclean.
The ones that didn't mention bible verses I searched for, all of them are true...
It's funny how Homosexuality is special in that it is one christians are all fired up about.

stfn69x...do i really need to do this? ok here goes...Exodus 21 is talking about people who have gotten themselves into quite a bit of debt and as a result have sold themselves, very temporarily, into servitude to pay off said debt.

That is not slavery as we would think of it at all. It's working on contract. See Leviticus 25:39-43 if you really feel the need to argue that. As for the Sabbath bit, these West Wing writers...and yourself...obviously fail to appriciate that Christians are not under Mosaic law, so what is your point, I'm not sure?? Colossians 2:16 is quite clear on that one.

Jesus never said a word about homosexuality but he did tell you to love your neighbor as yourself. So please, my dear Christian friends, either do as he said or take the "Christ" out of your religion's name.

A wonderful scene from a wonderful show.
Martin Sheen's character on the show was a deeply religious Christian, and his faith was always portrayed positively. If you believe in God and the word of Christ, more power to you. I have no right to infringe on your belief system. But the Bible was written by man. God (if he exists) may have atuallysaid about 10% of what's in the Bible. The rest is outdated dribble to encourage a patriarchal, intolerant society we don't have to live in anymore.

One stands in the presence of the President for the same reason one stands when a Judge enters a room; out of respect for the office REGARDLESS of your political affiliation. I stand for every President whether liberal or conservative. If you would stand for a conservative but not for a liberal President, it would be an example of YOUR intolerance for liberals so much that you would disrespect the Office of the President. I would not stand for a person who showed such disrespect to me. The character showed increadable disrespect towards that woman and her beliefs. In fact I probably would have gone so far as to give him the finger. I have found liberals to be very intolerant to anything they disagree with and this was shown in this clip. Again, the president is not a king. Don't like it? too bad. This "christian" president in this clip displayed no respect for this woman at all. Shamefull.

K, you clearly don't get it. Put simply, she is the ONLY ONE in the room not standing, it's not a 'liberal' tradition, but an AMERICAN tradition to stand for the President of the United States. Watch the clip again, the President is speaking and is distracted by the obvious disrespect SHE is showing to THE OFFICE of the President. He doesn't say "Stand up for me," he calls her out for her partisan personal posture, like you, SHE is being petty, small, partisan & disrespectful to America.

When I was in Catholic school, we were taught that when anyone entered the room, you rose as a sign of respect, esp. if you were meeting them for the first time. When I was out to dinner at a fancy restaurant, when I excused myself to go to the bathroom, the men rose (ala 'Pretty Woman') so I don't think there was anything regal the President's behavior.
