Out of all ex-Yugoslav states, only Slovenia and Croatia have a tradition of organizing Pride events, where as the attempt to organize such an event in Belgrade, Serbia, ended in a bloody showdown between the police and the fascist, far right extremists and religious fundamentalists counter-protesters, with the Pride participants heavily beaten up.

These radical serbs are very popular in serbia. About 90% of serbian population is pro-radical. Most of serbs are proud of their radical ancenstors who hate everything that is not serbian or orthodox. The serbian church is also very close to radicals and are supporting them.
