ugh im getting my adenoids and tonsils taking out in couple of weeks... nd they said that the risks of the surgery is that theres a 9% chance of massive blood lost nd dehydration... can u guys give me info on what might the sugery will be like.. my first surgery i ever had nd im 14 nd im nervous lol

i just got an appendectomy this morning. the worse pain was when i was waking up from anesthesia, but they gave me a special tylenol that helped tremendously.your mouth will feel dry but just drink a lot of ice water or hot tea. when i got home i slept for a couple hours, then i ate and watched tv for a couple more hours, then slept again. i had some ice cream and then some hot tea. the only pain is sharp throat pain when swallowing. this is because of that breathing tube they put in

The papers I received from my ENT states: The reasonably known risks of the procedure include hemorrhage 1 -2% chance, possibly additional surgical procedddure and possibly transfusion (rare). Other risks include some tatse disturbance & voice changes, which are usually temp. There are also complications related to general anestesia very rare.
Dehydration also, make sure you get plenty of fluids.

I have a question. My 5 year old brother is going for the Tonsillectomy and Adenoidectomy surgery tomorrow, and was wondering if anyone who had speech problems had thier speech improved? one of the reasons why he's going for the surgery is beacuse he has breathing problems and for his speech.

i had mine out like, 5 days ago and i starting eating McDonald's yesterday lol, it was about a 7 or an 8 on a scale of 1 to 10 the first two days but after that, as long as i take my meds on time, i'm good : ) don't sweat the surgery, it's not as bad as it seems :P
