John Bonham Style Playing Since I've Been Loving You

Uploaded by: mg4150
Video Description:
Recorded in the Chicago suburbs in the late 1970s, this is one of my John Bonham imitations (inspirations). I was a huge Bonham fan then and I still am today. Bonham ranked in there with the best because he had amazing feel and soul. There is no video to go with this since we rarely made videos of ourselves years ago like we do nowadays. I feel this is still a worthwhile contribution to You Tube. I always used to record myself playing to music so I could critique my playing. Left channel drums, right channel music. I reworked the audio on my 4-track machine and then digitally recorded it and enhanced it. I feel it actually came out pretty good considering it's over 27 years old!! The photo is of me as a teenager in 1978 playing my drums and wearing my Led Zeppelin 1977 tour shirt. Technically, there are a few mistakes of course, but the feel of the song is what matters

Thanks, It was an old recording I had of myself and I REALLY WISH I had more! I used to record myself all the time. Why did I delete all that stuff??? I do have a recording of me playing to Rush "Subdivisions" right when the album came out (in early 83 maybe?), the sound quality is very poor but maybe I'll post that someday.

yeah dude seriously dude i wish i could play like that dude. That seems so simple even though it isn't and to try to keep in time with such a slow song is kinda hard because you just want to just get into it even though if you do that too much you might go a bit out of time

Yes! I forgot about that! Years ago it was hard to hear the squeak of the pedal. You had to have an excellent high fidelity system to hear it. But now on CD you can hear it well!
