okayyy... can you play an instrument? can you play lazy eye? can you play 40 rods? i can play both (check my channel if you don't believe me on the 40 rods claim.)
40 rods has a recurring motif theme of Emaj7-c#min-Bmaj especially during the chill section (circa 2:15 and on.)
lazy eye goes Emaj-c#min-Bmaj. very similar. not the same, but similar. granted, i know melos doesn't have a dominating chord progression throughout the song, it merely circles around Emajor7.
did i say they were the same?

the point is, they're not my favourites
the fact that you actually take time to view the favourites of someone who you're arguing with, on the internet, is fairly sad, don't you think? almost as sad as the fact there are jonas brothers videos on the accounts favourites
but thanks for that stunning rebuttal, really on-topic.

i dunno ive made songs that are more complex than 40 roads (whether theyre any good or not is a different matter entirely though...) the trick is everyone have a clear written idea on what the structure is, and a rough recording of guitar parts with so you dont forget the parts.
learning it can involve a mind game. if you think, the brain can store so much information on lots of songs, so if you consider the track to be songs played in immediate succession, it actually becomes kinda simple

i don't think anyone can compare the fall of troy with tera melos. they're both absolutely astounding bands and i believe they've both produced some of the greatest music of the last 10 years. tera melos rely on far more complex song structures (they're probably among the most demanding bands i've heard recently in terms of musicianship). the fall of troy are basically the pinnacle of post-hardcore IMO. different bands for different people.

Tera Melos definetly deserves more recognition than they get.
They are by far the most musically complex band I've ever heard.

Just getting into these guys. They seem to bridge the gap (whatever gap there was) between original Hella and original Don Caballero (American Don/What Burns...Era). I like.

the drummer is great but he either needs to play softer or the guitarists need bigger amps. i can't hear some of the great guitar sections.

excited to see these guys with the new drummer, never really cared for this guy's style. i'm not saying he's bad by any means, i'm just excited for a little change.
love this band.
