I think Jandek has a fascinating persona and stage presence, but come one, this has been done before. Glenn Branca, Teenage Jesus and the Jerks... isn't this basically extremely stripped-down and slowed down no wave?

I love Scott Walker, but he was still singing "No Regrets" in northern cabarets when Jandek released his first album in 1978. If anything, Scott Walker is a Jandek rip-off.

I know when Scott Walker made his first records. But I assumed you were talking about his more experimental ones. That didn't really occur until "Climate of Hunter" in 1984.

I'm not a huge fan of this stuff, honestly it just doesn't strike a chord with me, but I actually can't make myself stop listening. I'm enjoying his stuff in a very fascinating way -- I'm not emotionally, musically attaching to it, rather I'm drifting around it with curiosity.
