Yeah the song is excellent but they definitely disgraced themselves by letting those guys rap in the middle of it. Totally ruined the performance for me after that point in the song.

HollywoodTeasers, I disagree. Actually, European music contributed to the music of the USA, especially in the harmonic aspect. Without European classical music, we wouldn't have those beautiful, fun modulations in "Ladies' Night!" I don't think you need to belittle European music to celebrate African and African-American music. You are definitely right that without black people, our music as we know it would not exist.

You are wrong in the first part, buddy. Try to read a little, and you will find that all the styles I talked about were created by African American people. I understand that you can have your opinion based on your ancestry, but it is not the truth. I am white and my family came from Europe! But I know the truth.

You're right that all the styles you talked about were created by African-American people. That's not what I disagree with you about. Many of the harmonic ideas in American music came from European classical music. This especially applies to jazz and rock, which use tonal chord progressions. Therefore, white people did not "totally rely on Black Magic minds to the creation of contemporary music styles." They contributed to America's music, too.

I am a musician, and my favorite styles of music are jazz, funk, R&B, and Afro-Beat, so...my favorite music came entirely from African-Americans and Africans! What I'm trying to prove here is that it's not true that white people "had zero ideas to make music." American popular music comes from two primary influences: European music and African music. That IS the truth.

Like I said and most importantly, like Music History says, you will find that all the styles I talked about were created by African American people. Man, you don't need to get anal about this against me.. Just read some books!!! I am not saying this, Theory is. Without black people, USA Music would not even exist as we know it today... They owe ALL to African-American in terms of music. Blues, Jazz, Funk, Soul, Disco, R&B, even the roots of rock...

"Without black people, USA Music would not even exist as we know it today". No. without the individuals that created the music, USA/ all music would not even exist as we know it today. The people who created the music just so happened to be black. Skin colour is entirely irrelevant. To say that black people are ,as a whole, responsible for pretty much all popular music is a generalisation. It's all about the individuals not the colour of their skin.
