Rick Warren Twisting Scripture (WOTMR) [1of2]

Uploaded by: LaneCh
Video Description:
Here we learn that Rick Warren doesn't believe that sermons will produce spiritual maturity, Bill Hybels of Willow Creek is one of the greatest pastors in History, that Ecclesiastes was actually talking about church growth in certain sections, and prayer and preaching doesn't grow a church. Sheesh.

This is ridiculous... The commentary, I mean. He's completely twisting Rick Warren's words...

In what way specifically? It's obvious that he's playing audio from exactly what Warren has said.

Thank you! I am so tired of hearing these one-sided witch hunts. Saddleback Church was started in a home, then moved to a high school gym for years, then in a tent for about 10 more years. They finally get a building, Pastor Rick hits a chord with his book, now all the judgmental "Christians" think they know him backwards and forwards. Get him on your show and let the man defend himself. He uses love and compassion to get people to his church, WOTMR uses fear tactics. It's sad.

Ok, I see where we are having a problem here!
I can say that I agree with Rick Warren and I agree with the guy from the radio. How come?
The man who is questioning Warren is right when he says that either you are saved or you are not! Salvation is FREE! This is right!
But Warren's point is that salvation is not the final level of our journey, is the beggining! God has a lot more to us than salvation! He has His kingdom!!! And they are 2 different things.
Satan! True ... ( 1 month ago by sungmee45)
Satan! True deceiver of this world! God uses anything to complish He's will, He does not need our permission. These individual does not represent our Lord Jesus Christ. Lord call us to pray for them. Only God can save, we need to pray and expose the their real agenda. May the Lord forgive us all.
One thing we have ... ( 1 month ago by benluklzy)
One thing we have gotten so far from is the fact that we are told to test EVERYTHING and hold it up to the light of scripture. No matter who says it, or what they say they believe. Even Paul said, "If WE (including himself) preach a different gospel to you, he is(or we are)to be accursed. Gal1:8 I have never heard that type of humility and honesty from RW. I have heard many scriptures ripped out of context and never any consideration that someone might have a valid point against his teaching.

Religion is ... ( 3 weeks ago by beetledan)
Religion is Bullshit but spiritual practices like meditation and chanting etc are not. Jesus was an Essene and practiced meditation, chanting and fasting etc. The spiritual path starts from within.....all this other religious stuff is nonsense! I cannot stand fanatics like these members of the "God Squad".

Salvation and The ... ( 2 weeks ago by justhimhere)
Salvation and The Kingdom of God R 2 dif practical ideas derived by man; However, they are the same in that The Kingdom of God is a physical place only accessed throuh the spirit, and salvation is a spiritual thing achieved in the physical. You can not enter the Kingdom of Heaven with out first having recieved the spiritual gift of salvation found only in Jesus Christ. So 2 seperate the 2 is folly. There is no Kingdom with out salvation.
oh the commentary ... ( 2 weeks ago by DocSolomon)
oh the commentary on Rick's comments should not have been done without studying what he said first... i think in someplaces what Rick said was taken out of context. Ex "that preaching doesn't save people", i think he meant preaching alone isnt enough, u gotta maniuplate their minds in mulitple ways that speak to them (ie music or something). LOL, yea i meant manipulate.

its simple if u teatch fundamentalism you get fundamentakists in your chirch, thats a small % of the population, the other ppl looking for faith and comfort will go elswere, or stop going , thats y churches are shrinking, and making 100 small chirches into one big multimilion $ one just gets all the fanatics in one place, the real christians stay at home or find a small church that preaches the bible.

There is one way to God and it doesn't start from 'within'... .the way to God is through Jesus Christ and Him alone.... not your version of "Christ"...not the Christ of the Mormons, JW's or the RCC only the Christ of the Bible.....

But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you dont need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true—it is not a lie. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ.

I did like what ... ( 1 week ago by JoelJW)
I did like what Warren said. The commentator that dismissed Warren is not aware of the other Scriptures. Paul's "Preaching" a lot of the time was in a cultural and social context. The debate on Mars Hill was both an affirmation and a warning. Paul affirmed that their' philosophy on God was in fact a step in the right direction, but that it was inherently limited in it's results. He also taught that he became all things to all men, that by all means he might save some...
To the lawless ones ... ( 1 week ago by JoelJW)
To the lawless ones, he became as one without law "Yet not without Christ's law". Clearly, Paul was affirming the need to be sensitive to people in their' own context. And by the way, Warren was right. The first command Christ gave to anyone in the book of John was "Come and see". The first disciple that called Him God's Son and Israel's King was Nathaniel, a man who was affirmed rather than rebuked... in spite of his prior expression of prejudicial attitude toward people who came from Nazareth.
If Christ knew this ... ( 1 week ago by JoelJW)
If Christ knew this, and practiced "Sensitivity" to the limits of those around Him without negating the need for change, we should do the same as believers. Not tip the balance too far in one direction or the other. There's a place for sterness, and a place for sensitivity. Warren actually made more sense in the "Progressive" change than this guy did in his' all at once idea. Not even the disciples changed all at once. Even after Pentecost, Peter was rebuked by Paul for showing favoritism.
