My only suggestion is don't let the bass notes overpower the high notes. They are what Michael loved to make ring through the whole venue. Play them loudly
Your comparison to Michael's sound is curious since his live tone was processed and EQ'd up to ying yang. Not to mention a Larrivee D-09 and Martin D-29 are sonically different beasts.
