Larry Norman | Only Visiting This Planet (1947 - 2008)

Uploaded by: thefetusboy
Video Description:
A tribute to my favorite artist, who has inspired me greatly over the years. He passed early Sunday morning, Feb. 24.
Larry Norman was the first man to combine modern rock music with his Christian beliefs. Though commonplace now, this took alot of guts in the late-60s.
Since the early 90s, he suffered continual heart problems, until he became far too weak to tour. He died at the relatively young age of 60.
This video is a sort of 'reader's digest' version of his career, covering just some of my personal favorite tunes throughout his lifetime.

I have been listening to Larry Norman, 2nd Chapter of Acts, Keith Green and many others since the late 1970's around age 18. I even got into trouble with the Baptist church in Orlando, fl that I belonged to for listening to it too loudy. I feel truly blessed when God selects very talented people with music. Larry Norman was blessed by being selected by God for his talent. Thank You Steve for putting together a wonderful tribute.

Here's to you Larry - thanks for paving the road drawn out by the Great Architect.

I saw him 30 years ago, in Zurich (Switzerland) when he did a Europe tour. He played only with a piano without a band.
At that time I had a music-cassette with his music, that I heard often. But I can`t remember from what LP was taken.
Bye Larry.

Very nice tribute. I happen to stumble across this post. I had not heard the name Larry Norman in many years, but my uncle was a good friend of his and was on tour with him for awhile as his photographer. Some of the pictures in your tribute were taken by him. Thanks for sparking an old memory!

This was good, thanks for posting it. I just found about his passing away yesterday & it was a shock. I have known about Larry since June 1972 when I saw him in Dallas at Explo 72, and stood 10' away from him at field level in the Cotton Bowl as he and his wife were taking pictures shortly before one of the meetings there. He played a few numbers that night, and also some at Lee Park another day. We'll miss him for sure, but I know hes at rest in the Lord.

I first heard "I wish we'd all been ready" at Vacation Bible School back in the late 60's early 70's. I never lost that song in my heart then I came across it here on You Tube, I was heart broken to find that Larry had Just pasted. He truly spread the Good News of Jesus Christ. Bet he will have lots of new stuff by the time we join him.
