Brown is desperately hoping that the public will be persuaded by the line that all the probs started in the USA and that this will allow him to dodge questions about his weakening of the regulatory structure, the huge levels of debt in the economy and the extent to which he let the City do whatever it wanted because it was covering up the economic failings of the rest of the country.
Have you been away for the past 10 yrs??
This is worth it, isn't it, just to see that funny little grin back on the Prime Minister's face. Forget that the price could be as much as £500 billion of your money, part-nationalised banks, a melted stockmarket, a ruined pension system, a mountain of debt, taxes through the roof and eventually an axe being taken to public expenditure. At least Gordon Brown is enjoying himself.
seems a fair comment
All these problems have been known about for at least a year in fact in 2002 Brown was warned about house price boom. But said it would cool..
His golden rule is a sham and generations will pay for his blunders...
Are you saying Gordon didn't know ??
had no control ??
what exactly ???
I think its you that have been taken in by the Labour spin machine..things are grim ..
Blair was sly though in getting out before it all blew up in Gordon face...
I would never vote for this shower again.
Pensions decimated, retiring age up 80 + taxes...
Come on get real this party has been a disaster.
"No more return to boom and bust".
"British jobs for British people".
" Tough on crime"
"we will not house prices undermine the economy"
"Promised referendum on Europe"
The list is endless. All the hundreds of sneeky taxes, year after year of waste.
Most of all I detest the Orwellian vision NuLabour has pushed us towards.
I voted in 1997 for Blair. You know the anthem " Things can only get better"..Road to nowhere would have been more apt.
You are relying to much on the media.
The Labour party have run UK plc aground the Tories are looking for way to get it off the rocks and the Liberals are making very valid suggestions.
The ship had been overladen with taxes and top heavy with useless regulation...We need a new captain and fast
