Haha! Remember Fraggle Rock? It used to be on HBO. I remember every time I'd see this (no matter what show was coming on) I would sing along with it from 0:56 on:
"Frag-gle-Rooock, Frag-gle-Rooock"
also, 0:34-0:43 always reminded me of either The Burbs or Beetlejuice.

Wow so 80's!!! I miss this theme much. I used to get off my feet as a kid and go bonkers with this theme. I remember watching Brain Games on HBO in the mornings in the mid-80's.

This is the best intro HBO has ever had. Its not possible to create something with the same atmosphere with CGI today. HBO definitely should bring this intro back for some of its movie showings.

I have not seen this in years and am going nuts!!!! I was born in 1980, always watched HBO, still do! One of the best intros ever. I was just watching a movie and thinking, this intro sucks, back when HBO used to rock awesome ones, I wonder if it's on Youtube.....boom!

The brightest star on the right is Polaris. The north pole star. "We" were flying north by north west. Cool even the Big Dipper was in the sky.

Really fascinating, nobody will ever go into this much detail and painstake these days, just use computer graphics, thats why a lot of these older movies with real models actually look a little better than using to much computer animation, just use computers where they're really needed.

Not to start an internet fight but you should look into the kind of painstaking detail that goes into say, the new Incredible Hulk final fight. Models are cool, but cg is finally coming into its own and it can be every bit as realistic and difficult to produce as anything that came before.
