For gawds sake keep ya clothes on man...*blerk*. I have finally sat down and tortured myself watching this 6 hour version with Colin Firth. THANK GOD the newer better version with Matthew McFadyen was shortened. I have honestly never been so bored in my entire life. I do'nt get what you all are seeing in this version. Thank goodness I only rented this version. Matthew McFadyen is the sexiest Mr Darcy by far.

I just couldn't get into Matthew MacFadyen as Darcy, I love him in "Little Dorrit" (currently on the BBC) but he just wasn't Darcy as far as I'm concerned.
Colin Firth was the ultimate Darcy for me, although I have to admit that I was really seriously bowled over by Elliot Cowan's version in Lost in Austen - now you have to admit that's some SERIOUS man!!! He put so much passion into him, that even though it wasn't "proper" Jane Austen you just couldn't help loving him!!!

or blossy7 is maybe someone who hasn't read the book and can't fully appreciate the full story of P&P. :P For anyone who has read the book can say that the series is long! It's perfect :D
I loved the Series, enjoyed the movie. Both men are great Darcy's in my opinion. Both have very expressive eyes that I ADORE! Very handsome men indeed :D. (tho I must admit MacFayden is just a tad bit sexier ;) )

You know, I totally agree...and I also love the way they were all so modest and properly dressed in those days...nowadays it's all about 'less is more'. There's no preservation of dignity left in the world.
LOL-Appropriate ... ( 1 week ago by 8xNinjax8)
LOL-Appropriate assumption :) I think it's always better to convert books into televised pictures as a series, especially books like Jane Austen's because there's so much detail in them without which the story's not portrayed properly...and a one and a half hour movie crams so much that a lot of the key parts of the book are missed out. Some people need to learn how to appreciate the ART of literature Jane Austen mastered. When they do, they'll realise how idiotic a description 'boring' is.

Ohhh lovely Miss Lizzy,
Youve resisted him so far, but SURELY you must know that the laws of sexual attraction state that when you enter the territory of ONE A "Mr. Sidey," theres no will in the world that can withstand the smoldering temptation of facial decor creeping se-duct-ive-ly down from the cheekbones, allowing any woman to admit for the existence of any "fault of temper." AND THIS...Mr. Darcys burnage?!?! Well, LORD save us all! Please won't you come tickle MY cheeks, Mr. Darcy? :)
