she didn't say she died....just that she'd poisoned herself, but that's enough for everyone to assume she had died. She spoke the truth but not the whole truth. It kind of sucks b/c you are right. She did love him. She was also protecting him from the hurt of knowing that he would never have the chance to have a relationship again with his wife, b/c she kind of was a loony in the end.... that arsenic and Judge Turpin really did her in....
