Guitar Hero gets me in to bands that i never would have listened to otherwise. If it wasn't for Guitar hero, i wouldn't listen to Maiden, Megadeath or Dream Theatre. Same goes for Muse, nine inch nails and smashing pumpkins. Regardless of weather or not it's "just a stupid game" it gets people listening to good music, and gets people playing real instruments.
So can someone tell me what's so wrong about that?

yeah, there's the fact that songs on GH go completely mainstream and everyone starts singing them, and when devoted listeners start singing they're called posers, beacuse the song just so happens to be on guitar hero, and it made the guitar the new "thing" so now every 12 year old goes out and buys a guitar beacuse it makes them cool
basically, it not about the music, its about the ego/image (no offense)

BTW i do play real guitar and i find it much easier than guitar hero, which is kinda why i like GH - puts more of a challenge rather than going at your own timing
