Two points to consider, Sir:
1) This is the the prelude to suite #1 (although that doesn't really mean he wrote it first, but we'll let that slide)
2) Through the magic of modern technology WE are in 1987.
And I will add this further refinement:
Tuesday.

And if THAT isn't enough, Sir, I'll have you know I was counting on my fingers and disregarding one thumb, because some serious shit started going down in 1776 and that decade isn't to be counted in a petty, little Internets squabble like this.

The brightest star burns shortest. "Always remember that somehow this planet was lucky enough to have beauty like this, if only for a moment. And if that's not a good enough reason to enjoy life I don't know what is." -Robert Keeton-

If I've learned anything from Michael, it's that the technique should never overshadow the composition. Make how you play revolve around what you play, and not vice versa. Thanks, Michael. Hope heaven likes Heavy Mental.

Beautiful!!! Hedges' artistry will never fade...versatile and innovative. A very sad loss indeed.
I love this composition. I posted my own (somewhat perky and jazzed-out) rendition of it on my own youtube channel, for fiddle, modulated to the key of D...the only way to get it to fit on a fiddle.
Also, if you like this melody, search youtube-vid: "Li Jie, Bach prelude" Her rendition is exceptional. Interesting how musician's like to make subtle changes to this piece. Everyone is different.

It is interesting that he inspired a new guitar style. One of which that Antoine Dufour plays who similarly went to school to learn classical guitar. I thought that was a bit ironic.

It's a shame how so many talented musicians die or are on the verge of dying: Hedges, Becker, Cobain, Staley, Hendrix...
It's also a shame how these "musicians" are successful:
Mick Thompson, Pete Wentz, Fred Durst

Why are you so critical of people who are, or were incredibly talented people who enjoyed playing arrangements like this? Do you even play guitar or cello? If not, then you, as someone who has no knowledge of playing a musical instrument cannot effectively critique these people.
