And why is that? We spend more per student then anywhere else in the world. The public schools system in America doesnt need more money pored into it, it needs more competition. School vouchers would increase quality, give the power of choice back to the individual families, and reduce costs. But Liberal teachers union arent having any of it.
The US government ... ( 20 hours ago by TimeWarp66)
The US government pays 43% of health care costs.
That's 43% to many. Roughly half the money is circulating and controlled by the state, 25% is controlled by employers(thanks to ridiculous government regulations) that leaves roughly 1/4 of costs in the hands of individual choice. Market forces simply cannot work under these conditions.

Your solution to ... ( 17 hours ago by franks2732)
Your solution to poverty, disadvantage, and inequality is to stop funding programs which give a hand up out of poverty
Now you go and tell all the poor people, your solution to them being poor is to make them more poor, to let them die because they cannot afford medical treatment etc lololollololol, freedom?
Europe, Australia, New Zealand provide these services so people have more freedom, more opportunity, to give all an equal chance and you want to take it away from them in the USA lololol

Americans are the least satisfied with their health care; America has the most privatized health care of any member of the 10 most industrialized nations; spend 14% of GDP on health care compared to 9% in Canada; $911 is spent annually per person on administrative costs vs. $270 in Canada; Canada's infant mortality is 1/3 lower than in the US; Canadians live 2 years longer. Canada is also ranked #1 by the UN for quality of life.
Public healthcare ... ( 16 hours ago by franks2732)
Public healthcare works , people don't die due to an inability to afford treatment. People are more healthy in a public system, treated better and receive a higher level of care.
In the American system, people are poorly treated, die and pay more than any other industrialized western nation on earth
"Market Freedom" is not Freedom at all but only an endorsement of the (as AB Lincoln would say)of the "money powers" right to maintain control due to the financial power to do so! > = Oligarchy

Europe's (EEC's) average unemployment rate is around the same as the US, but most of the time is lower, while at the same time paying higher wagers, providing unlimited social security, up to 6 weeks holidays, job security, free education, healthcare,
Citizens pay higher taxes but receive much more for their cash and demand no less from their governments.
This creates a much more free and fair society, Denmark & Sweden are the envy of most western nations
All countries are democracies

If being free means the following you can have it
living shorter lives
working longer hours
earning less money

no job security
being more likely to end up in jail
having a terrible education system that produces idiots
having little or no social security or social services
not being able to feed your family

Those programs ... ( 4 hours ago by TimeWarp66)
Those programs don't bring people out of poverty. They maintain it. People have no insentive to work or be productive when they get free handouts for doing nothing.
Western Europe averages a 12% unemployment rate, while the U.S. has 5%
"Europe, Australia, New Zealand provide these services so people have more freedom"
That's money stolen by the government, from the people who do work, and given to the people who don't. That isn't freedom. That is a nanny state.
Canadians wait ... ( 3 hours ago by TimeWarp66)
Canadians wait months for basic care. When price goes down, demand goes up. When the price is reduced to zero, like with universal coverage, demand is essentially limitless. So, the government is forced to ration services to sick people. Many Canadians come to the U.S. to get immediate health services there government simply cannot provide.
Let's compare and contrast public V. private in this country:
private>public schools
FedEx> Post office
Private investment> social security
Most Liberals favor ... ( 3 hours ago by TimeWarp66)
Most Liberals favor the decriminalization of drugs and prostitution. This inevitably will lead to reduced life spans. But Liberals support it, because they support personal choice. But when someone chooses not to put aside money for health insurance and doesn't live as long, you get all up in arms! Its complete hypocrisy. You believe in social freedom but not economic freedom.

Many people who you refer to as " homeless" could more accurately be called " rentless."Often they have a roof over their head, but someone else is paying for it, usually the taxpayers. Similarly, many of those who are called" the hungry" are in fact being fed everyday, but at someone else's expense.

Real freedom is not ... ( 2 hours ago by franks2732)
Real freedom is not just about money. You just stated its OK to die younger because you chose not to have health insurance, people cannot afford health insurance
You talk of hypocrisy, I believe in freedom, not a type of freedom; I do not divide freedom, that is sick
Most Liberals favor the "decriminalization of drugs and prostitution" yes because social services can help people "kick the habit" or get off the streets > less people die> cool
More people die from alcohol than illegal drugs

(Libertarian 4 life!) Completely untrue, been watching them Prager vids again? call yourself what you like but don't insult me that implying you hold libertarian values. The Libertines of France would be rolling in their graves if you think what they wrote has anything to do with your ideals
What did you do? , read the conservative writers of Reagan's & Thatchers day who slanted history to mold "the new era conservative myth" to justify greed
