I have no idea about the 3g to be honest !
I suppose it will because they run on the same version on itunes and the iphones are brothers so i suppose they will have the same software etc.
I would try it, there isnt anything to lose!

is there a way to convert file that have been downloaded from iTunes. When I attempt to convert it to aac, it tells me it's protected. Any thoughts? As a side note, this is by far the best post on this EVER. Thank you.
