Rivayete göre, Faşist Franco döneminde İspanya'da bir idam mahkumunun hücresine Falanjistlerin işbirlikçisi bir papaz girerek mahkuma son duasını etmesini söyler ve sorar;
-Son bir sözün var mı oğlum?
Mahkum yüzünde bir iğrenme ifadesi ile papazın suratına tükürerek haykırır;
-Gracias a la Vida!!! (Teşekkürler Hayat!!!)
Arjantin'li devrimci şarkıcı ve ozan Mercedes Sosa, mahkumun idamından sonra onun dilinden ifade edilmiş gibi bir halk türküsü haline getirilen bu sözleri seslendiriyor:

but: i don't really understand, why mrs. sosa is related to mr. castro in this video... i could associate miriam makeba with the regime of the sudan as well. but i don't. ^^
and i have no problem with "hasanabi" as well. i'm bavarian, but not stupid. *g*
