Remember, he has "The" longest running dance/music show in television history, outlasting Dick Clark by decades at this juncture. It was difficult for him to break the color barrier at that time and as history usually goes, most other ideas of folk like him were compressed or shut out. I'm sure that wasn't a fluke and he has more. The next time you see his show or a tape, study it, and you'll see a formula for success.

i danced on soul train and seeing folks like damata jo freeman, little joe, steve and shabadoo brings a huge wide grin to my face. it would be great to see don outfront again but i think he spoke otherwise when he sold "soul train" and i believe for the same reason berry gordy sold motown, for the same reason clarence sold "essence magazine". are you friends with don?

No, but wouldn't mind interviewing him for an hour. You have to sell such holding at a good price once the royalties diminish to pennies, but the demand is high. good business since. The new owners will make a killing and you are set for life, plus a bonus by selling. He has good advisors, that's why Johnson sold BET, but still has some holdings of it, if I'm not mistaken.
