West Virginia is a state that is so backwards in regards to race and change. It wouldn't matter if Obama campaigned hard there and showed people his economic plans could better West Virginians lives they still view him as an "outsider" or something that is different. White West Virginians are a microcosm of white voters. I mean Obama won other majority white voters in majority white states: Iowa, Missouri, Virginia, Minnesota, Colorado, Oregon, and Washington. In WVA it is cultural less racial.

As a westvirginian myself. There are just some people in this state that should not be allowed on camera.... Every state has them... but leave it to the news to find the biggest redneck in the entire state to put on national tv. But all being said in the northern part of the state we believe that obama may have a better plan then clinton. but it is truely sad to say that most of the southern part of the state is less educated then rest of the state

Yes, I do. People don't like anything that is different or foreign to them particularly people of color. You should think about microcosm in the aspect of being a minority and understanding biracial politics. I'm not trying to start a war with anybody about this, but I do know what it means because I've experienced racism. Whites are uneasy about voting for a black man and you will see this all over the country, there is no denying it.

Saying white WV voters are a microcosm of white voters overall implies that they're an accurate representation on a smaller scale. You yourself pointed out that they're very backwards compared to many other parts of the country.
I honestly can't say I have the best view on how race effects politics in the States, because I'm from a country where race isn't really a factor one way or the other. Here, the vast majority of voters, including white voters, vote solely on the issues.

There is something about being in the South that gives you more of a chance at being obese and mentally deficient. America is a terrible country where the poor people are fat and vote against their own interests because of ingrained racism and/or fear. If Obama is not elected as president, may this country burn. I have lived in West Virginia for my entire life and I know no one like these people. Obama is up 8 points in WV in the latest poll.
Basically everyone I know supports Obama; WV voted for democrats in many elections when no one else did. By the way, the media always goes to these backward ass places I have never seen when the come to WV; and I have been almost everywhere in WV. We voted against Reagan and Bush I when no one else did; and 4 of our 5 representatives are democrat.

I think alot of voters will be shocked Nov 4th when OBAMA wins West Virginia. I was born and raised here and their are no more racism here than in other places. You can pick a small town in any other state and find the same ignorance there. A few will not speak for the many who believe in a better America!
