| i am 41 so WZ has been a companion to my soul through the good ,bad ,and ugly- and i dont think i have ever seen him perform live and be out of it, or play poorly,though i have heard the stories of him being so drunk,he had to be helped offstage. | oh, i know. i was raised listening to him and my parents love him and his music, especially splendid isolation (everytime play it in the car they turn it up), and i was so so so sad the day he died, and ever since, because it was a true loss. |

| I think he's condoning it. In his life story by crystal zevon, she tells how he used to hold up in his room for days on end armed with booze and drugs. He seemed to enjoy this in his early years but deeply regretted it later. This is an early song however. Just my guess?? |

| "You got an attitude problem, Warren." He might be right. Great interview. I'm not a BIG fan of Letterman's, but he redeems himself by putting Zevon in the limelight. Zevon just didn't feel comfortable it seems. |
