45RPM David Bowie - The Laughing Gnome
Uploaded by: 45RPMs
Video Description:
David Bowie's first major hit 'Space Oddity' was another two years away, when he wrote and recorded this track in 1967 for the Deram label. Deram Records was set up by Decca Records (UK) ostensibly as a label for "alternative" or "progressive" artists. Mint copies of this 7" single, with an 'inverted' matrix number printed on the label are worth in the region of £70. My copy has the matrix number the right way up and is worth around £5.

I was thinking of an alleged conversation that Bowie and Eno had , when Eno first heard some of the Disco productions from Studio 54. "Listen to that Teutonic beat" Eno reportedly exclaimed :)
Thing song is purely a shame.
It does however show just how innovative and unique David Bowie was for that time, but could prepare us for what was to come. He is a brilliant artist and I would take this over his affair with "Dancing In The Streets"
