Choreographed in 1981 by Ira Weisburd who was filmed presenting the dance in 2004. It is sung by Israeli singer Dudu Elharrar and written by songwriter Yehuda Badichi. The song scored 2nd place in the Oriental Song Festival 1976. It is still danced regularly in Israeli and International Folkdance Groups all over the world and it is widely recognized as one
of the "CLASSIC" Israeli Dances (ריקודי עם) of all time.

Also quite a few of the Israeli folkdances originated from before Israel was formed. The Jewish traditions are older than Israel. You can also see that in the older Israeli folkdances there are influences from all diffrent parts of the world. From Spain, Russia, Yemen, to name a few.
since the israelis have just recently formed their terretories on the Palestinian lands, i dont think theyve had enough time to create their own traditions.. a big blend is not a unique style.
i think time matters a lot when you're talkin about tradition. im palestinian and i do not mix islam with my traditions.. so your folk dance has nothing to do with judaism
