Because in early 90's you could know only about Metallica, Megadeth and Anthrax if you'd be lucky, only if you were deeply into underground metal you could know all the other "bands". Why? Not because they were better, but because yjey've found the right label+promotion+commercial combination...
Then it came all the alt.shit movement and now we have Korn and all the pseudo-metal bands we know well...

Your all lame. Most thrash bands went rubbish in the 90's! anyway the big 4 are overrated. Some of the better thrash bands include... Xentrix, Kreator, Toxik, Exodus, Acid Reign, Lawnmower Deth, Onslaught, Heathen and Forbidden. to name a few, go brush up on your google-fu before arguing with a pro!!!

you are no pro. its not about how good they were in the 90's its about how good they were and the music they made. consistency is a personal opinion. i personally think Slayer sucked after Show No Mercy, but you would all disagree more than likely. and Testament never sucked. EVER. and Kreator isnt even the best German thrash band. i give that to Destruction or Holy Moses. You are no pro. you are just a kid with a list of names.
