Beastie Boys roots started back in '79. How's this... without them, N.W.A. would not exist as we know them. Listen to some of their other songs, some of the more politically charged ones. All these really well known songs on YT are popular club songs from back when. Better yet, do a little reading up on them, you'll be amazed at what you learn.
