well he wasnt able to control the power in a kid form...the ssj4 required the peak of physical performance of the saiyan body so it can be handled so even if he were old and in a wheel chair he'd probli become young again just so his body could handle the massive power of the ss4 form.

Thats because ss4 adds the physical stuff if he was still an adult then he would have bigger muscle mass than he does in this video but I don't know if it adds to the tallness.

yeah see the explination above but also I think for production values sake it helps. It looks so much more impressive going from a kid to SS4 than it would going from ss3 to ss4. I noticed this 1st when he was fighting Nova and he transformed and said somthing like 'sorry to keep you waiting;

No they do not say that. I know you're referring to the Goku-Vegeta vs. Omega fight were Trunks explains why Goku is tiring out faster than Vegeta seemingly. Goku was fighting A LOT longer. Fighting Nova, Eis, Sin, Omega alone (at a point) without a break.
