What the!?!?!?!, ... ( 1 week ago by vladimir1944)
What the!?!?!?!, Clinton destroyed the Economy almost. Unemployment skyrocketed when Clinton became President, after Carter left, Reagan brought the Unemployment rate from 21.5%, to 9.8%, Bush Sr. brought it to 6.8%; then 2 years after Clinton became President, unemployment was going up almost by 0.7% each year, Bush Jr. cleaned it up, till Democrats took over Congress and the House Of Represenatives.
reagan helped big ... ( 1 week ago by Rip2pac2k6)
reagan helped big businesses only and created a huge deficiet that would carry on for years, the soviet union fell because reagan and bush outspent the soviets and because they overextended themselves with the wars in Afghanistan . In , addition reagan cut social programs that could have helped alot of ppl. Clinton helped brign the economy up, but also contributed to the current situation with Nafta. That combined with George W. Bush's deregulation and trickle down bullshit has brought us down

True."unemployment ... ( 1 week ago by vcrm1)
True."unemployment skyrocketed when Clinton became president" because of reagan's policies. The 90's were a time of economic prosperity due to Clinton's policies. Do your homework. If you think we are doing well now, well, i can't help you with that. There's no cure for stupidity. You're just dumb/dense.... and you have no one else to blame but Bush and the republicans.
To Rip2pac, Reagan ... ( 1 week ago by kingcapitalist)
To Rip2pac, Reagan helped everyone when he fixed the Jimmy Carter screw ups. He stopped the windfall profit tax impossed on the oil companies by Carter, and got the oil flowing again. That got gas to the stations so we didn't have to wait in line 4 hours for gas praying they didn't run out before we got to the pump, and lowered prices. Carter got us in this mess with the community reinvestment act of 77. Clinton made it worse in 95, by relaxing their guidelines. Look it up.
In 2003 Bush tried ... ( 1 week ago by kingcapitalist)
In 2003 Bush tried to get congress to tighten the leash on Fanny, and Freddy but the democrats fought it. After the oversite commitee made their evaluation, and told congress they feel if they continued on this course of action it would cause them and the economy financial problems, but again they democrats fought it, and called the oversite commitee racists, and that there was nothing wrong, and companies were sound, and working fine. Again look it up.
As for Reagan ... ( 1 week ago by kingcapitalist)
As for Reagan spending money, well yes he did. For our safety because the best way to peace is by show of force. We proved we were the military might of the world. Would you rather we went to war with Russia? Clinton didn't do anything except gut our military, and raise taxes on everyone. He did not have a standing surplus, he had a 10 year projected surplus. Social programs should be cut down. Why should tax payers carry the water for sorry asses that refuse to work. Hand up only, no hand outs.
By the way, McCain ... ( 1 week ago by kingcapitalist)
By the way, McCain tried again in 2005 to get some stonger oversite into freddy, and franny, but yet again the democrats fought it. The democrats wouldn't get on board unless there was a tax increase included in it. Again look it up.

You must remember, however, that Lincoln was more in line with the Dems of today than the Republicans of today. I'm not defending the dems, believe me, but Lincoln was a Democrat by today's standards.

Us slaves????? Are ... ( 2 days ago by badtown88)
Us slaves????? Are you 160 years old??? Yes, it is common knowledge that the republican party USED to be the anti-racist party. However, anyone with any knowledge of politics knows that this all changed once Democrat LBJ signed the civil rights act, and lamented that he was handing the south to the republicans for a genration. Parties change. The Republicans have been on the wrong side of race relations ever since the 1960's Read up.

When did I ever say ... ( 2 days ago by badtown88)
When did I ever say that there were no black republicans??? But to say that Republicans in the last forty years have had a good record on civil rights is to be delusional.
By the way, no libertarian should be defending the republican party of today. They do not believe in the constitution, they shunned a true libertarian, Ron Paul, and they are no longer for small government.

they do have a bad record on civil rights but mainly toward gays and atheists and i kno what u mean i was a ron paul supporter libertarians are the best on civil liberties both parties tryed to smear ron paul
That's funny... ... ( 1 day ago by stopularno)
That's funny...because I thought Nixon was the one who advanced Affirmative Action and Reagan that signed into law the final bills of the Civil Rights movement. Dorks. Why was the media concerned about 'Hick Democrats' not voting for Obama because he's a 'little dark?' We just dont gripe about race because we know its never been an issue for us. Oh: the 'Southern Republicans' was a trend begun by Falwell's movement to register and involve Christians. Read up, son.
Saxby Chambliss and ... ( 1 day ago by stopularno)
Saxby Chambliss and Sarah Palin are the future of the Republican party. Bush and McCain were anomolies that will be undone in the next GOP sweep: 2010. Ron Paul is a good guy, he's just a little too center-libertarian for Republican primary voters who are generally Right Wing Libertarians.McCain only won the primary becuse the Conservative(RWL) vote was split up by what, 5?

You cannot establish security on borrowed money. You cannot build character and courage by taking away men's initiative and independence. You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves." -Abe Lincoln's principles
