Frankie passed away at the age of 25. He was born in 1943. It's a sad story. See his story on Wikipedia. He was a nice guy and a beautiful person inside.

When you really get down to it, they were the "original" Boy Band for R & B. Before New Edition, Jodeci, Dru Hill, Boyz To Men and B2K, there were these guys. Here's something very eerie. When Frankie died in 1968, it was the same month that Michael Jackson & The Jackson Five auditioned for Motown Records. I was also reading in last month's VIBE Magazine about how B2K had so much in 2001, and today have "nothing".

no that's a common thing that happens to boy sopranos when they go through puberty and the larynx drops and tightens. Not falsettos, the choir type, in fact I think they get better, Aled Jones did. Its not that they aren't talented, i mean Frankie Lymon was terrific, idk if you know who Billy Gilman is, but his voice was like this and is still fantastic now, but he lost that wow power or something. Look up some vids of Billy Gilman as a kid then as an adult, you'll see what i mean.
