Video Description:
This film tries to dispell fear of nuclear radiation by such tactics as portraying the human body as a factory run by pixies, telling you you can always get a toupee if your hair falls out, and informing you that you'll be dead before getting a high enough dose of radiation to make you sterile. The naration is alternately patronizing and clueless, making this a highly amusing example of 50s cold war propaganda.

the thing is that the a-bomb would contiminate huge area. with the infrastructure destroyed, where are you going to get fresh food or water? And as we've seen in chernobyl, the fall out can affect areas pretty far from the actual explosion.

I love the "harmless as the radium dial on your watch", when those are illegal now.
Screw the duck and cover, I'd rather be fried by the flash than die of cancer weeks or months later. I watched my mum die of cancer and it wasn't pretty. I'll take the initial blast thanks.

You do know that Chernobyl's explosion was tiny compared to that of a nuke? It was more of an steam explosion, but there was much more nuclear fuel that went airborne(cause it was a reactor ).
