Seem is the keyword ... ( 1 year ago by redtortoise76)
Seem is the keyword here and he is only 40 years old, give him ten years and then ask him how his hands are doing. I'm not talking out my ass here, it's a known fact that japanese conditioning will mess up your hands in the long run, do some research

Check out the 70-year-old Morio on - Sensei Higaonna Human Weapon - his hands are just fine and still taking a beating.
I remember this when it was 1st aired on BBC2, he and Simon Lau must have inspired thousands of guys like us to start training. Good post!

That's a stupid comment. Morio Sensei is perfectly fine at 70 and still doing it. Its those who don't know how to do it who will injure themselves and mess up their hands. You can't just read a book, watch a video and start hitting something hard. It needs to be taught how to toughen the fists without long term injury!

I'm pretty sure I heard Morio Sensei talk about using Dit Da Jow. That makes a tremendous difference. Again you did not do your research. There are a lot of Japanese Karate masters out there who have completely destroyed their hands in old age, this is common knowledge. Get educated then talk to me.
You said give him ... ( 1 year ago by Pecherin72)
You said give him 10 years, its been 30 years since this video and last I met him in July 07 his hands were perfectly fine. Like I said people just can't do it without special knowledge, including DitDaJow etc, or they'll hurt their hands. And that includes Japanese Masters who didn't bother to take special care when doing this training. Lots of people think they can just punch the Makiwara and toughen the fists like that-as a result they messed up their hands in their old age.

"Its a known fact that japanese conditioning will mess up your hands in the long run...." Well, firstly Sensei Higaonna is Okinawan, and no offense, but if you don't think there's a difference between an Okinawan karate master like Sensei Higaonna and the run-of-the-mill Japanese karate master you need to know so much. Okinawa karate does not equal Japanese Karate, so chill-out, Okay?
Obviously the " ... ( 1 year ago by fbling)
Obviously the "Karate Masters" you cited were afterall not "Masters" because they conditioned their fists wrongly. Morio Higaonna knows how to do it correctly for sure, and at 70 he is as fit as someone who's 30. Wait till you're 70 and let's see what shape YOU'RE in before you diss him. Think before you comment dickhead!

Iron Palm must be so unpopular that you've to do your advertisements on a video about karate.
Nay lol, it's not ... ( 1 year ago by redtortoise76)
Nay lol, it's not okay. Sensei was introduced to Dit Da Jow by a chinese man, had he not been introuduced to that his hands would have been just as messed up as the others. Hitting a rock to condition the hands is simply not a good idea. All that I'm saying is that the Chinese Iron Palm training is hands down the best way to condition the hands, period. If you don't know that then you remain ignorant.

Blow me fbling. At least I know and practice the Chiese Iron Palm method which has been proven over and over to be the best and safest way of conditioning the hands. Think before you open your mouth and let ignorance flow like diarheea.

Actually IP is far more widely practiced than the karate method. Your ignorance flows out of your mouth like diarheea yet again. Do some research for pete's sake and stop using two different accounts to debate me on this you ignorant blowhard. Now mush.
You are just sore ... ( 1 year ago by fbling)
You are just sore because someone said your comment was stupid. I've been doing Karate AND Iron Palm the last 30 years, and if you're from the UK your sifu is probably my good friend, so all I can say is wait till you're Higaonna's level before you criticise him
Haha, yes I'm ... ( 1 year ago by Pecherin72)
Haha, yes I'm ignorant of Chinese or Japanese Martial Art traditions but you're the expert-and my grandfather wasn't a Chinese Martial Artist. But there's absolutely no need for you to get upset just because I said you're stupid. You need to learn self-assurance and Manners. Enough Said. Bye!

I've seen some of your other posts, your ignorance on the topic is great, there is no way you've been doing anything for 30 years and you know nothing of IP either.

I get upset when idiots like you claim to know something, talk out of their ass and then I have to straighten them out. Don't talk on things you know nothing about. Now scram, bitch ;)
Too bad you are so ... ( 1 year ago by Pecherin72)
Too bad you are so upset:) The foremost thing in Oriental Martial Arts, esp. Chinese, is LiYi(礼仪) or Ri, which happens to be "Manners". Its the first thing you learn in a dojo or school, LiYi also comes with humility. What ever you claim to be learning, from your Sifu you have not learnt humility or manners. Another shallow swaggering internet tough guy I guess:)
