the death penalty is completely necessary. if someone really wants to kill someone, or multiple people, they aren't going to give a fuck if they have to go to jail for a while, but if the punishment is ALWAYS death, unless under special circumstances, then murder rates would drop like a motherfucker who just passed out from a drug overdose

This is really a step in the right direction. I don't think the main reason for the death penalty is a deterrent. What it does is get these scum off the face of the earth, so we do have to deal with them and so they don't clog up our prisons. The main reason is that it ensures they don't pollute the gene pool. And, it is totally badass!
