**** Part 3 is now up! ****
** Thanks for all the great responses and feedback! I appreciate all the messages but I couldn't possibly respond to them all, so here's a big Shukran (Thank you) to all! **
This is the first in a series of arabic language lessons, which will cover the written language and then speech. This lesson is a two parter and contains the basic isolated consonant forms. Stay tuned for the next installation, where you will learn how to write basic words and how the isolated consonants change shape depending on where they are in the word.
Learning Arabic is not as hard as you'd think if you have a good system. I've had to pick up bits and pieces here and there and it is my hope that by bringing them together and sharing them, others will be able to quickly learn how to master this beautiful language.

ا ب ت ث ج ح خ د ذ ر ز س ش ص ض ط ظ ع غ ف ق ك ل م ن ه و ي . actully that's just the beginnig: there is also the ء which you can add at the top or bottom of alif ( أ ) abd it changes completly the pronouciation, to the ؤ and ئ . also there is آ and مّ (the little things on top of alid and mim).
For a non-semite, your pronunciation was pretty spot-on. Although personally, I think there was a little bit closer pronounciation writing to some of the letters:
ح is more like "ha"
د "dal"
ذ "thal"
ر "ra"
The rest were almost perfect ^^
you can practice your Arabic with me
if you are interested, reply me on my youtube mailbox
thank you
please go on
If you were in a country that isn't located in South-West Asia but that say had Islam as its' official religion, in a round-about way you could say that it's an official language for them.
I think you're both kind of right.
