In the late 1970 there were a Swedish patent on this. The two "poor" inventors was offered so much money for it from the oil companies that they could live a good life without the need to work ever again.
For their own safety and reasoning they choose to sell the ideas and to live a good life instead of trying to change the world.

you can also use salt water for these applications, salt actually speeds up the process of seperation between the hydrogen and oxygen molecules. AND h2o is also MASSIVELY present in our atmosphere and the air we breathe, fossil fuels however ARE a limited resource and because of that they become more of a commodity than a right (meaning prices will rise due to consumption).

i think that this should only be marketed if the cars that run on compressed air fail, even though it may be able to use salt water i think that air would be a better choice because of the virtually infinite amount of it.

No. Where you live a 1kW solar rig will give you 4 kWh at the most every day (you only get about 4000 mWh/m^2/day where you live there in spain).
By using off the self technology only 2 - 3 kWh will be available to your car after you convert it to hydrogen. If you use it in an ICE instead of a fuel cell, you will loose another 50% - 70% in ICE inefficiencies, leaving you with 1 kWh per day which is about enough to take you what ... 10 KM round trip?
Quadruple this if you use an EV instead.

most days i don't drive more than 10km, only using the car to pop over to my mums place.how many fuelcell powered ev's are on the market today? how many people have access to fuelcell powerplants for their nonexistant EVs? my car has an ICE.I can reduce petrol consumption by adding H2 to the air intake. higher flame speed due to H means ignition spark can be delayed till TDC,reducing surface area of combustion chamber,increasing overall efficiency of ICE,so more power from petrol and from free H

i agree that internal combustion engines are horribly inefficient, but while we are stuck with them we may as well do what we can to improve their efficiency. If a small amount of H from solar can do this, we should use a H booster.I can produce my own H2 for FREE using solar(or geo/wind/wave). If water mist injectors can also improve efficiency, we should also use water injectors.
or we could do nothing but wait for an affordable fuelcell EV to hit the market,and waste fuel in the meantime..

to my mind a 1 kw solar rig should provide 1kw anytime the sun is shining on it. are you suggesting that we only get 4 hours of sunshine per day? i had been led to believe that 1m^2 sunshine could provide 200w of power. if so, in 1 hour it could provide 200wh. if its getting 8 hours of decent sunshine/day, that should add up to around 1.6kwh/m^2/day. a 5m^2 rig should be able to knock out 12.8kw/day. where are you getting your numbers from? in what way is my estimate wrong?

A 1kW system only produces 1kW at the panel (before it goes through inverters, wiring, etc) and assumes ideal conditions (angle of incidence = 0, no soiling, no diode/conneciton losses), at midday. If you graph the power produced you get a bell-shaped curve, so no it isn't 1kW as long as there is sun. Google solar-insolation-map. Where you live you'll get on average 4kWh/m^2/day, or 4 solar hours per day. Trust my numbers. I'm a solar consultant. I do this for a living.
