Randy Pausch's testimony to the Labor, Health and Human Serv

Uploaded by: StopPancreaticCancer
Video Description:
On March 13, 2008, Dr. Randy Pausch provided testimony to the Labor, Health & Human Services Subcommittee on behalf of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. This is his personal story about his diagnosis of pancreatic cancer and his fight to survive.
Pancreatic cancer is the fourth leading cause of cancer deaths in the US, but receives extremely little federal funding to support research efforts. In March of 2008, the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network went to Congress to urge the federal government to provide critical funding to speed the cure for this horrible disease.

I have been watching all this for a long time.
As an thyroid cancer survivor from the age 16, this should be a warning for U.S. for its programs. Everything about medicine has been very capitalistic and this is true for in all aspects. (Medicine, Doctors and research)
I am not crying out for communism but for the farewell of humanity social medicine and research is only the just thing to do.
Farewell prof. Rest in peace. Hope on day humanity will understand every message you have left us.

What a brave man. It is one thing to be given a death sentence. It is another to use one's opportunity to use one's own imminent mortality as a goad to others to live, as Pausch did. He was courageous, and selfless. So admirable, so brave.

As a woman widowed at 28 with a 6 month old and 2 1/2 year old, I know the pain and struggle that Mr. Paush's wife is feeling and will continue to feel every day as she tries to make the best decision for her children, by herself. He states he knows he will die, 100% sure. He is asking for help for the future patients of this horrible disease, NOT for himself. How the hell is that self centered? Godspeed Randy, you have touched my life and that of my children forever.

I think this man has done so much good in this world. He has opened our minds to a cancer, and make us think about it and make a change. After watching his last lecture I really understood his love for his family and his students and job. He is a great man and didnt deserve any of this. I could never say he was SELF CENTERED or his WIFE just wanted the MONEY. I garenttee his family would choose him over any money. I hope you feel ashamed zzzFATxxTONYzzz. You are just terrible!
