This incident was video recorded by Simon Lowe. 233 people where on board this jet bound for Lanzarote. The number 2 engine sucks in one bird (a crow or corvid) as the plane rotates off the runway.
T.V. news reports of two herons being sucked in are wrong.
Congratulations to the crew and air-traffic controllers for the calm and professional way they dealt with the situation. Please checkout more video's by me on Flightlevel350.com.

and very well recoreded !
I flew on a Britannia Airways flight in the early 90's which had a compressor stall on take off resulting in repeated banging and flames from the engine. May have been a bird strike or another cause - I dont't know.
After levelling off and the pilot announced what had happened over the intercom, and that it was the first time it had happened in his career but something they train for in the simulators :-)
Excellent Radio Transmission, Handling & full recovery to Wallasey for a return to 06L.
BYAI.
Thank you for sharing this INCREDIBLE clip...
Very Professional... [Pilot should get a "COMMENDATION" from THOMSONS].
IN TOTAL COMMAND...
