i was thinkin the same hundred monkeys thoughts myself today.
figured you could do it they way you said,but then thought wouldnt it still have to go around twice regardless of size?
so then to a 2:1 pulley arrangement with moveable pickup,
or better still...
an electronic circuit that reads 2 pulses and only fires on one of them.
and had a adjstable delay,so that no changes need be made machanically.
that would be perfect.

2:1 Would be correct...a set of points working off the cam shaft would work. (cam is 2:1).
An electrical setup to "ignore" every other spark is a problem...because the circuit cannot discern which spark to "allow" and which to "ignore".. because the engine will recoil from time to time which will then "confuse" an electrical circuit.
A mechanical setup is never confused.

Yes, 2:1. Increasing the flywheel size would not work either, I'll have to tear into the engine a little more to see how to tap the cam....

Yeah, incresing the size of the flywheel wont work. It would still go around twice, just faster because the magnets would cover more distance to get there to set off the coil. It would have to be a pulley reduction off the output shaft. Had to think about it for a while

I was trying to avoid electrical if possible, I'm going to pull the flywheel off and see what else I got to work with....

why do you want to get rid of the waste spark? to run it off HHO, so the waste spark doesnt back fire into the HHO generator?

how far open is the intake valve when it sparks?, if it was only a small amount, what if you grinded that off the bottem of the valve stem thing, so it was closed all the way...

Well, I suppose you could change the adjustment on the valve. Valves have a certain amount of hardness made on the tip and if you grind it off then the valve end would wear much faster.

hows about fabricating an extra lobe for the camshaft thats just the opposite of the lobe that triggers the waste spark and have the new lobe trigger an on off switch thats spliced into the spark plug wire.

I am thinking about tearing an old bicycle apart to get the sprockets off, that would get the gear reduction. The problem with driling out the anything to get to the camshaft is, it would have to be done on the bottom of the engine, since this is a vertical shaft setup. I thought about trying to make it a horizontal shaft but worry about the oiling system, which I show in the other video. I am keeping my eye out for an old horizontal shaft engine at the flea markets...
