Jazz is strict structure masquerading as freedom . . . much like America, Seriously that's like the tagline of a book, you have to play in a time signature, to a constant beat, using an even number of bars with hamonic rhythem, (everyone playing the same chords.) All music is the same.

i like some jazz(KLUGH,BENSON etc..) but this just seems like ramble noodling. i know she has a huge understanding in theory but there is no sense of feel or rythm with this. i havent heard a lot of her interpretations but this might be the worst version of WTSGMI ive ever heard. at about 3:40 she grooves a little but then @ 5:00 or so just lost again

Undoubtedly an amazing talent, but this kind of thing sounds a whole lot better live. I love jazz, & even try to play it, but feel it's a shame when it starts getting self-indulgent ("hey look at me!") rather than carrying you away on wings of song (to quote Tom Lehrer). This vid tended towards self-indulgence & virtuosity for its own sake. Major respect for the skill, but at times the feeling is "yeah, that's really amazing playing, and..?"

Mimi Fox is certainly a great guitar player. This performance here clearly shows she is a master of guitar. This is not rambling. This is not all over the place. This is "raw" display of sheer talent. No effects and no gimmicks!!!!! Improvization exquisite!!!! Stop criticizing so much and try to listen to what the music is saying. She is not trying to say "look how great I am". Think outside the box. This is an artist and her painting. Her brush just happens to be her guitar!!!!!

this is a brilliant adaptation of a very old gospel song that has been sung by generations of humans and as such we need to understand that this is her expression;her way of understanding music and we should stand not in judjement but in awe of her ability to give forth as such ..as a guitarist this tune is really cool with the Edownto D and A to G tuning you can get a lenny thing goin....
