Say what you will about Roger Waters, but there is no denying his intelligence. His answer to the last question is excellent. I am not a fan of his solo music, but I always enjoy reading/listening to what he has to say.

Brilliant musician with Floyd and some of his solo stuff (Amused to Death). Writes amazing lyrics weather I agree with them or not. I can not believe how much whinning he can do over his fathers death in WWII would he have been such a great musician if Hitler had won? Maybe he would have written better music with that kind of opression if he was allowed too? He was educated well as a child. But I guess we dont need no education. Other than that he is the greatest song writer of the 20th century.

I would like to think hes changed. for sure. I can't say I think of him as a "Victim" of any sort at this point though. Thats just my opinion of course. All I know is that Roger fired Rick. How can Roger even think that he can fire Rick? Is he the boss or something? Its too bad Rick had such emotional issues.

I think Roger fired Rick because of cocaine abuse, not taking into consideration that ''Dark Side..'' was mostly Roger + Rick. Being a leader changes you as a person.

He is a very talented guy..but also a very surly and egotistical one. Great song writer...cool, edgy voice...serviceable bass player...but a total JAG. I don't blame Gilmour for not wanting to deal with him...as much as it pains me.

shouldn't that be Mr. Roger Barrett that should be considered the genius behind the Floyd, even if he was in there for only a short bit. The things he did helped provide the feet that the rest of them stood on for the years to come. From DSOTM-The Wall. They all had references to good ol' syd. LOVE LIVE THE FLOYD, SHINE ON SYD AND RICHARD!

Nick, Rick or even David may or may not contributed as much a Rogers did, but thats not how Bands perform, keeping tapes for ransom just to get someone out of the band! fact of the matter is that Roger wasnt interested in anyone else's ideas! that's why none of the other members have credit on the FInal Cut, how far can you go, A post war Requiem by ROger Waters perform by the Pink FLoyd, this guy is a hypocrite.

Mason, Gilmour, Waters & Wright were all fantastic musicians aswell as extremely intelligent people and probably the nicest people you could ever meet. My father went with them backstage at a show in the 70's and he said that all the band spoke with them for hours and never seemed one bit put out by it. I think they're style was almost timeless and is still enjoyed by todays generation.

Roger wrote Final Cut as a solo project in memory of his late father. Floyd had at this point unofficially retired, however they ended up recording the album with Roger and it was supposed to be their last, for Roger it was. Take a look at the album Ummagumma, each of the 4 was given a whole side to an LP to create their own stuff, no other band in history has ever done that so it wasn't just all about Roger. Roger was the visionary of the band and could see the bigger picture before the others.

I have absolutely no problem admitting that he was the driving force post DSOTM! but others were there too. My complain is that he preaches a lot! "how people should behave and how we are all equal etc" and when someone tries to point out where he was wrong he turns back into that "filth spewing pig" he detest so much! Why this contradiction? He was fighting over name of the band, Pink Floyd as rick said was bigger than all of them, it was made by all five of them.
