Its very hard for me to use 3 fingers beacause I have very large hands and when I play with three I have to lift my hand cause my midle finger is too long. So When im runing a scale I just use the midle finger to jump to the next chord but asides that its just 131313131313 in triplets but I need to go quite faster for what I like to play.

its really hard though to play fast with fingers unless you use all four-when you do though, its a nice trick for performances or whatever.

Dont use force to hit the note it only makes you slower, also forgot to say dont go and use the fingers normaly like 123 use them from longest to shortest so it should be 231 keep the second one closest to the chord the third a little further and the first extended compltely to keep them in the same distance.

I took the idea while looking at my step dad play the bass he slaped bass and instead of hitting it with all of the fingers he used one finger the second one to make the slap he said it was easier to use it first for everything so implemented it to my acoustic guitar playing, im just a beginner but it makes it easier to play that way since I have the same problem.

four with the picking hand or on the fretboard? cos you can go faster with finger style than with a pick, just cos the strings are far apart and you have to move farther.
